We often photograph children as part of a normal family photo shoot but we also find that lots of our clients really just want some great photos of their children on their own or if you're really lucky together with a brother or sister too!
Clearly we all have loads of photos of our children taken on our phones but when you want something really special here at Origin Studios we specialise in capturing images that you will treasure whether thats on the wall or in an album.
We seem to connect really well with children at every age and are fluent in everything from Peppa Pig to the latest video games.
Children are some of our toughest clients so we know if we can keep them happy then you will be too!

From Newborn to Teen and everything in-between!
They grow up so fast but we hardly notice until we look back at the photos. The portraits we take aren't just for you, they are for your childrens' children in years to come.
NEWBORN PHOTO SHOOTS
The best time to take a newborn baby photo is in the first ten days from birth and we totally understand that at that point you are unlikely to feel like doing much if our experience is anything to go by. The good news is you can park right outside the studio and we have lovely comfy sofas for you to crash on! Babies rarely perform on command so we keep these newborn photo shoots super relaxed.
We keep our images simple and timeless, a memory of when they were so small it's hard to believe.
CHILDRENS PHOTO SHOOTS
We understand that sometimes it's just great photos of your children that you want and we totally get that, whether they are newborn babies, teenagers or anything in between we can make them look amazing or perhaps just how you want to remember them when they aren't around!
CHILDRENS HEADSHOTS
We take lots of children's headshots every year and are always delighted when we hear about the roles they have been successfully cast in. We are listed on spotlight and are able to create a range of engaging, authentic and suitable images from just one head shot photography session.
There are two headshot options you can book from the online booking link above or give us a call to discuss.
We also do a lot of theatre photography working with theatre groups and schools. If you have a number of children wanting to get headshots done we are happy to set up a group session either in our studio or on location.

We deliberately limit the number of photo sessions we do to ensure that every one of our clients gets an amazing experience. We will make sure we have a consultation beforehand so we can create authentic portraits of your children that they will love too.
We are experts in getting great expressions from children whatever it takes and equally we understand that teenagers just want to look cool.
We are constantly being told that we are mad to work with children and animals but honestly we wouldn't have it any other way!
The photo shoot is just the start
Once the shoot is over we will book you in to come back to view the finished photos and order your finished products. This is secretly our favourite bit - the pressure is off and we love to see your reactions!

Ian did some wonderful shots of our daughter, we've had professional photos done in the past but Ian's photos were far and away the best. He has a fantastic eye for a good picture and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ian to anyone wanting a family photoshoot.

CHILDRENS PHOTO SHOOT FAQ's
What should THEY WEAR?
We always suggest bringing a selection of clothes, we have a hanging rail in the changing room so it's easy to change and that means we can take photos in the clothes that you like and the ones your children like. Obviously if they are too young to have an opinion that makes it easier!
IF I CHANGE MY MIND CAN I JOIN IN?
Of course but that's totally up to you. You are welcome to watch, help keep them entertained or just crash in the green room and help yourself to coffee* and biscuits!
HOW LONG IS THE SHOOT ?
The short answer is as long as it takes but we usually allow 1-2 hours depending on number of children but don't worry we find for most people, us included, the time usually flies by!
I have some great IDEAS FOR A PHOTO?
That's great, we always enjoy planning the shoot with our clients in advance and although we have plenty of ideas of own it's lovely when we can work together to create something really personal.
